Steve Wickham & Ray Coen

Steve Wickham (The Waterboys/NoCrows) and Ray Coen (NoCrows) join forces for this very special Celtic Connections performance. 

Steve Wickham is recognised as one of Ireland’s foremost rock fiddlers, with his distinctive playing style making a major contribution to The Waterboys’ ground-breaking records. In addition to his work with Mike Scott, Steve has recorded and performed with U2, Elvis Costello, Sinead O’Connor, Bob Dylan, and Sharon Shannon, among many others.

Sligo-native Ray Coen is an experienced guitarist and fiddle player, and has recently stepped out of the shadows as a supporting musician and into the limelight to perform his own material. His debut album, 2009’s Out of Sight, was described as “beautifully recorded and arranged” by Hotpress. 

Steve and Ray have collaborated in world music band NoCrows since 2007, and here the pair perform stunning fiddle music as duo.
