Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh is a multi-award-winning traditional singer and musician from the Gaeltacht of Corca Dhuibhne, West Kerry. A leading exponent of the sean nós style, she is celebrated for the warmth, clarity, and expressive power of her voice, and for her ability to communicate the depth of Ireland’s song tradition to audiences worldwide.
For this special concert, she is joined by a star-studded ensemble of some of Ireland’s most accomplished traditional musicians and composers inclusding Michael Rooney, Dónal O’Connor, Neil Martin, Becky Ní Éallaithe, and Mick O’Brien. Together, this ensemble will present much-loved sean nós songs — including selections from Muireann’s critically acclaimed Róisín ReImagined — interwoven with exhilarating instrumental music and the driving rhythms of sean nós dance.
You can expect a performance that not only celebrates the richness of Ireland’s cultural heritage, but also highlights the creativity, artistry, and collaborative spirit that keep the tradition vibrant today.
Then a powerful celebration of folklore and forgotten magic, as Kim Carnie presents her highly anticipated second album A’ Chailleach.
Showcasing the new material, the evening will be filled with love charms, incantations, old magical rituals. For one night only, joining her will be her own all star band featuring Megan Henderson (Breabach), Innes White, John Lowrie, Mark Scobbie (Mànran) and James Lindsay (Breabach) as well as special guests Jerry Douglas, Seckou Keita, Donald Shaw, and Julie Fowlis — the stellar musicians behind her acclaimed new album.
“A masterpiece […] Simply stunning, Carnie’s gauntlet may be unassailable.”
