Mardi Gras Night: Beauxmont and Guests
From small towns with long memories, Acadian raised, Canada’s Beauxmont fuses stories of a shared past with Louisiana, the resilience of its Maritime brothers and sisters. Songs sung behind the church hall or after the bingo at Edgar’s house; heard at camps and kitchen tables from Memramcook to Grand Barachois. Six francophone New Brunswicker’s wielding accordion, harp, fiddle and washboard, decided Acadie could always use one more, late-night, bad decision inducing band. They’ve been likened to the swampy sounds of the bayou and they definitely give a nod to the southern cousins but the sound is ‘vraiment’ Acadie.
