Known for her jazz-infused voice and deft songcraft, Kaia Kater is redefining the sound of contemporary folk and Americana. Born in Montreal of Grenadian descent, Kater is a Polaris Music Prize long-listed singer-songwriter whose music is a powerful synthesis of Appalachian folk, her Caribbean heritage, and the modern sounds of jazz and alt-rock. Critics, including Rolling Stone and The Guardian, have hailed her work as a "quiet, yet powerful storm." Expect everything from raw folk ballads to soaring, multi-textured anthems.
Alma is a trio based in Glasgow comprising of three independent singer-songwriters, Anna Cassidy, Ellyn Oliver and Marina Rolink who have come together over their love of lush harmony and considered songwriting. Alma won a Danny Kyle award at Celtic Connections after their first ever live performance. Taking inspiration from the likes of Joni Mitchell, Laura Marling and The Staves, the trio seek to create songs that are warm, honest, and thoughtful. Alma's first single 'Magpie' was released in April 2025 and has seen radio play on BBC Radio Scotland on The Roddy Hart Show and The Iain Anderson show, along with a live interview on The Arts Mix with Len Pennie.
