A night of stirring vocal and instrumental music featuring Ireland’s Declan Sinnott (Moving Hearts, Christy Moore), and Martin Tourish (Altan)

Declan Sinnott and Evelyn Kallansee (Evelyn & Dec) started working together in the dark Winter of 2020. They have written and recorded an album called ‘Make for Joy’. You may know Declan from his work with Christy Moore, Mary Black, Horslips, and Moving Hearts. He produces, writes, sings, and, of course, plays guitar with Evelyn. Evelyn was born on the tropical island of Curaçao, had a music career in the Netherlands and lives now in Co. Kerry. She has gone from singing in Les Misérable to acid Jazz and everything in between. Together, they have found a new path.

In concert, you will hear all the songs from their album (and the stories behind them), some new takes on old songs and a bunch of songs from their second album, which will be out at the end of February. Two voices, one guitar and a warm, uplifting attitude.

Snow on the River is an album of instrumental music, composed by Oscar McLennan and arranged by Martin Tourish (Altan). The album was over four years in the making, and featured almost thirty musicians from Italy, Ireland and Scotland. The music itself is deeply moving, created in the wake of the tragic death of Oscar and his wife Erica's three-year-old son, Ian. It is also spiritually uplifting, reflecting the profound love they both felt for him. The live concert of the album will feature Martin Tourish (accordion), Felip Carbonell (guitar), Siobhan Buckley (Celtic harp), a string quartet from Ireland and a brass quartet from Italy (all of whom played on the album). Oscar, himself a highly regarded monologuist and storyteller, will be weaving a verbal tapestry between the pieces of music, providing a narrative dimension to the whole experience.
