Tha a’ bhliadhna 2026 na bliadhna fìor chudromach don Ghàidhlig ann an Glaschu leis a’ Mhòd Nàiseanta Rìoghail, prìomh fhèis Ghàidhlig na h-Alba, a’ tighinn don bhaile-mhòr againn san Dàmhair. Cuidichidh Cèilidh a’ Bhaile Mhòir leis na subhachasan Gàidhlig a chur air shiubhal.

Tadhail oirnn san Ionad Pìobaireachd airson òrain, sgeulachdan, bàrdachd agus beul-aithris Gàidhlig mu dheidhinn Glaschu mar a bha, mar a tha ’s mar a bhios.  Cruinneachadh traidiseanta ann an cuideachd sàr Ghàidheil ainmeil – Ailean MacEunraig agus Deirdre Graham -  tha sinn a còmharrachadh an eòlais cho-roinnte is choitcheanta a tha againn agus a bhith beò ann an cridhe a’ chèilidh.  A bharrachd air gnìomhaidhean agus beagan dannsa, tha fiathachadh aig an èisteachd òrain a ghabhail cuideachd.

Cluinnibh sibh cuideachd tionndadh beag bho Fèis nan Deugairean agus bardachd bho Bàrd Baile Ghlaschu – Niall O'Gallagher.

Bidh a mhòr-chuid den tachartas seo anns a’ Ghàidhlig ach tha fàilte bhlàth romhaibh uile.

2026 is a key year for Gaelic in Glasgow, with the Royal National Mòd, Scotland’s premier Gaelic festival, coming to the city in October. Cèilidh a’ Bhaile Mhòir will help get the Gaelic festivities off to a flying start.

Visit us at the Piping Centre for some songs, stories, poems and maybe even some Gaelic folklore around Glasgow’s past, present and future.  A traditional Gaelic gathering with well-known Gaelic artists – Alan Henderson & Deirdre Graham - join us to celebrate the shared and common experience of the lived moment of the cèilidh.   Along with performances and a wee bit of dancing, you, the audience, are also invited to gabh òrain (sing/ take a song).

You’ll also hear a wee turn from Fèis nan Deugairean (Teanage Fèis) and a poem from Bàrd Baile Ghlaschu – Niall O'Gallagher.

This event will mostly be in Gaelic, but all are welcome.
