Chris Brain is a contemporary folk singer-songwriter from Yorkshire, known for his contemplative, introspective music that is deeply inspired by nature and the outdoors.
His sound is characterized by a delicate yet technically formidable fingerpicking guitar style and warm, honest vocals, drawing comparisons to folk icons like Nick Drake, Bert Jansch, and John Martyn.
With critically acclaimed albums like Bound to Rise (2022) and Steady Away (2023), Chris Brain has firmly established himself in the modern UK folk scene, receiving airplay on BBC Radio 2 and BBC 6 Music. He is also a champion of the folk community, having founded the Hyde Park Folk Club in Leeds.
