Ceòl is Craic: Adwaith and support

Adwaith are a Welsh language indie rock band from Carmarthen, South West Wales featuring Gwenllian Anthony (bass), Hollie Singer (vocals, guitar) & Heledd Owen (drums). Adwaith released their debut single ‘Pwysau’ and album Melyn in 2016 and released follow-up album Bato Mato in 2022. In a historic first, the band became the first act to win the Welsh Music Prize twice over, and now have three headline tours, an acclaimed Glastonbury set and Manic Street Preachers and IDLES support slots under their belts. Adwaith might be a band with clear roots set down in Wales – but looking towards the future, they’re now keenly focused on taking the language worldwide.

Gabba, which translates to “Ivory-coated Reindeer” in North Sámi, is a Sámi band that seamlessly blends traditional yoik with influences from Norwegian folk music, Americana, and other “world musics” into their own Tundra Blues. Gabba’s music is a reflection of the Sámi people’s lifestyle, with each song transporting the listener to the vast landscapes of the Arctic region.

TEUD (meaning string in english) – The Hebridean Fiddle Project grew out of a conversation regarding the differing Hebridean fiddle styles and music throughout the Hebrides. A collaboration between fiddlers; Claire Frances MacNeil, Shona Masson and Jamie MacDonald each drawing on the musical and cultural heritage of their individual islands culminating in a performance of Gaelic music and songs showcasing the ‘Hebridean fiddle style’.
