Cathy Jordan: Storybook with James Ross & Maxwell Quartet

Storybook is a new project by Cathy Jordan and Feargal Murray, featuring ten songs by Irish composer Brendan Graham. The songs are a mix of love, loss, leaving, elemental things, shifting seasons and desires, and country, emigration, and blessings. The album has been praised by ethnomusicologist, sociologist and Professor of Anthropology at South Carolina's College of Charleston, who wrote in Hot Press that Graham's songs are "a link" between the old tradition of writing and the more modern 'folk tradition'.

Pianist and composer James Ross, joined by internationally renowned Maxwell Quartet. Landscape to Light celebrates the remarkable landscape of the North of Scotland. Written for piano and string quartet, James draws inspiration from author Neil Gunn’s evocative descriptions and vivid pictures of land, sea and nature in his collection of essays of the same title.
