Canadian quartet The Fretless, with Madeleine Roger bring their exhilarating, genre-defying approach to string music to Glasgow with a performance that is as immersive as it is musically dazzling. Built around the rich interplay of fiddles, viola and cello, their sound transforms folk melodies into intricate arrangements filled with driving rhythms, soaring harmonies and unexpected textures. Audiences can expect a concert that moves seamlessly between moments of delicate beauty and exhilarating energy, revealing the remarkable versatility of a modern string ensemble.
This tour celebrates Glasswing, a collection of original music presented through a carefully crafted live experience that combines striking visual design with the quartet’s signature musicianship. Every element is designed to draw listeners deeper into the music, creating an atmosphere that feels intimate, cinematic and full of movement.
Warm, inventive and endlessly engaging, this Celtic Connections appearance offers the perfect winter escape for anyone drawn to contemporary folk, boundary-pushing string music and exceptional live performance.
