Josie Duncan with Janice Burns & Jon Doran

Josie Duncan launches her new album, Nad Làimh (In Your Hand) at Celtic Connections this January, a homecoming of song. The album explores language, love and belonging, and for this special launch Duncan is joined by her full band for an evening of intimate, heartfelt music.

Raised on the Isle of Lewis, Duncan creates music that feels both deeply rooted and strikingly contemporary, weaving together folk influences, Gaelic heritage and thoughtful songwriting with remarkable emotional clarity. Her warm, expressive voice carries audiences through songs of place, belonging and human connection, while her gift for storytelling allows each lyric to unfold with quiet power. Josie Duncan is known for blending tradition and innovation, creating performances that honour the musical heritage of the Western Isles while exploring fresh creative ground and bridging the sonic worlds of traditional and self penned songs.

Listeners can expect moments of tenderness, reflection and gentle uplift, delivered with the natural ease of an artist who connects deeply with her audience. Whether performing self-penned material or drawing on folk traditions, Duncan creates an atmosphere that is welcoming, heartfelt and immersive. This special album launch concert offers a wonderful opportunity to experience one of Scotland's most compelling contemporary folk voices and to hear her new work live for the first time.
