Grant-Lee Phillips plays tracks from his latest albums Lightning, Show Us Your Stuff and All That You Can Dream.
Lightning, Show Us Your Stuff was released in 2020, just prior to the pandemic. A tour previewing the album with John Doe and Kristin Hersh had to be cut short. Like many musicians, Phillips sought out silver linings wherever he could find them. After promoting and performing the album through live streams from his home in Nashville, Grant started the process of writing again. The resulting full-length, All That You Can Dream, is understandably introspective. It's anchored by Phillips' empathetic voice and rich acoustic guitar. The album's lyrics attempt to make sense of an uncertain, anxiety-riddled time, while coming to terms with the idea that once-unshakeable things now seem fragile or fallible.
