One of the most popular touring bands from the USA, the music of Amanda Anne Platt & The Honeycutters has been described as Appalachian honky tonk, and being based out of Asheville, NC., that’s not far off as a style tag. But, the band is more well-rounded with a richer depth of character than that suggests – a factor that has won them a much wider span of appreciation. The band’s last two albums won a batch of glowing reviews and ended up on many “Best-of” end-of-the-year lists.
Cup O’Joe is a close family trio who have been playing together from their early teens. They were raised in the traditions of bluegrass and folk and it is these traditions that their music is rooted in. The former Radio 2 Young Folk Award Finalists have toured extensively through Ireland, England and Central Europe over the years. In 2017 they were selected to take part in the Bluegrass Ramble at the International Bluegrass Associations weeklong conference and festival in Raleigh, North Carolina, being along some of the first International bands to do so.
