Celtic Connections 2022
Sadly the concert planned on Friday 4th February 2022 at Celtic Connections is cancelled. Koady Chaisson, banjo player, tenor guitarist, Moog player and lifelong friend of fellow band mates, Tim Chaisson and Jake Charron, passed away suddenly on the 6th of January. A full refund will be offered on all tickets to this show.

The pyrotechnic music of trailblazing Canadian trio The East Pointers has made them firm festival favourites across Europe, Australia, the US and Japan, connecting today’s global village with their deep traditional roots in Prince Edward Island. Cousins Tim and Koady Chaisson – heirs to several generations of family musicianship - and their friend Jake Charron infuse trad-based tunes with a freewheeling array of sounds spanning gritty Americana and euphoric EDM, punchy indie-rock licks and tribal trance grooves. The band’s multi-award-winning third album, 2019’s Yours To Break, also displays serious songwriting chops, in hook-laden folk/pop anthems laced with killer three-part harmonies.

Opening the show, Scottish uilleann piper/composer Calum Stewart, a sought-after collaborator across genres and Celtic traditions, premieres music from his forthcoming solo album True North, continuing his musical journey into the history and lore of his native Northern Scotland. He’s joined by Adam Rhodes (bouzouki) and Ross Saunders (bass), together with international step-dance star Sophie Stephenson.
