Twenty years on from the stunning success of Mull Historical Society’s full-length debut Loss – “a beacon of originality in a tiresome sea of dross” (Time Out) – its author Colin MacIntyre reprises the album in full, together with other back-catalogue faves. While Loss’s musical hallmarks - irresistibly warm-hearted guitar pop, replete with reflective lyrics and uplifting melodies – have remained MacIntyre signatures, they’re now resonantly informed by two decades’ accrued experience, musical and otherwise. Ahead of a new MHS album in 2022, he’s backed here by Sorren MacIean, Hannah Fisher and Seonaid Aitken, plus more special guests to be announced.

Fellow Scottish singer-songwriter Yvonne Lyon’s reputation can readily be judged from the company she keeps: her latest album, 2020’s Growing Wild, features co-writes and studio collaborations with Beth Nielsen Chapman, Eddi Reader and Boo Hewerdine, among others. A finely crafted blend of Celtic and Americana influences, her songs match eloquently poignant lyricism with intensely expressive vocals.
