Celtic Connections 2023

Recently dubbed “the most exciting force in Scottish music” by The Skinny, Hen Hoose present an exciting and unpredictable show featuring some of the country’s most talented musicians. Founded by Tamara Schlesinger (aka MALKA), this all-female/non-binary songwriting collective sees an array of artists from across the creative industries working together to produce ground-breaking new music. Featuring more than a dozen stars including Karine Polwart, Emma Pollock, Jayda and Elisabeth Elektra, their first album, Equaliser, has been ecstatically reviewed.

“A stirring argument for the art of collaboration, and a terrific advert for the female and non-binary talent fuelling everything good about Scotland’s alternative scene” ***** (The Skinny)

Man of the Minch performs tracks from his debut album, The Tide is at the Turning , with a full live band. Over the past few years, Pedro Cameron has become one of the most exciting names at the forefront of Scottish folk music. Performing under the moniker Man of the Minch, he blends traditional Celtic sounds with personal and profound storytelling. In 2019, Cameron won Up and Coming Artist of the Year at the 2019 Scots Trad Awards. His debut album features stunning guest appearances from musicians across the Scottish folk and indie scene. These include Rachel Sermanni, Finn Anderson, Josie Duncan, Laura Wilkie, Malin Lewis, Gillian Fleetwood (State Broadcasters/Henry & Fleetwood), David MacGregor (Broken Chanter) and Little Acres.

“An enthralling sonic vision” (Country Queer)
