Teenage Fanclub drummer Francis MacDonald has had his fingers in an inordinate number of Glasgow’s musical pies over the last 20-odd years. Two of his more recent ventures are the successful boutique label Shoeshine Records, and the producer’s credit on Friday Night Lights, the much-fêted 2008 debut from tonight’s closing act, Attic Lights, hailed by The Guardian as purveyors of “rapturous melodic joy” – and of “blasphemous trash” by the Free Church of Scotland.
The rest of the bill includes a characteristically diverse and distinctive selection of Shoeshine talent, including the original Bellshill anti-heroes of the now-legendary C86 scene, the BMX Bandits, and MacDonald’s Fanclub bandmate Norman Blake, in his new collaboration with ex-Gorky’s Zygotic Minci vocalist Euros Childs, with other acts to be announced.
Over 14s only, under 16s with an adult.
