Celtic Connections Education Concerts : Heeliegoleerie

Thursday 24th January 2008, 10.00am

Glasgow Royal Concert Hall : Auditorium

Please Note: This event is now past.

Heeliegoleerie bring a fresh approach to Scottish music, with a mixture of tunes and songs from a range of traditions, as well as a plentiful supply of their own compositions. Formed in 2003 they won a prestigious Danny Kyle Award at Celtic Connections in 2006.

A three-piece folk band playing traditional music and songs with mainly Scottish, Irish and Swedish influences, they cover a range of styles, from high-energy reels to the mellowest of slow airs.

This concert will also feature The Hoose Band, comprising some of the fine musicians who deliver our school workshop programme. We are also delighted to welcome Alistair Hulett, with the young singers from John Paul II Primary School.

Suggested stages: Nursery/P1-P3
