The three Asturian siblings who lend their name to one of Spain’s top folk acts, José Manuel Tejedor, Javier and Eva, combine traditional and modern influences with deep sensitivity and exhilarating flair.
While mining the riches of their native regional culture, their albums have also featured numerous international collaborations with their fellow Celts, including Phil Cunningham, Duncan Chisholm and Michael McGoldrick. They will showcase songs from their new album Música Na Maleta.
In a Scottish folk/fusion scene bustling with talented innovators, piper Finlay MacDonald leads the field.
MacDonald’s superb five-piece band, also featuring Chris Stout (fiddle), Kevin Mackenzie (guitar), John Spiers (bass) and Fergus Mackenzie (drums), has been honing its act for the past four years, creating a thrilling instrumental synthesis of folk, rock, jazz and dance-music influences, as showcased on their current CD Pressed for Time.
