Last year’s winner of the Radio 2 Horizon Award, Gaelic singing star Julie Fowlis with her acclaimed band is poised for further meteoric success in 2007. Tonight’s set will feature tracks from her eagerly-awaited second album, due out in March.
San Francisco quintet the Stairwell Sisters align old-time sounds with 21st century attitude, exquisite vocal harmonies with hellraising dance tunes, in a mix of early US roots music and inventive original compositions.
A dynamic new force on the Québécois music scene, the multi-talented trio Genticorum perform a powerhouse blend of traditional and original material, incorporating vibrant vocal harmonies with flute, fiddle, guitar, jaw harp, bass and foot percussion.
