Laetitia Sadier, Jo Mango and Dan Haywood's New Hawks
Please Note: This is a past event.

Stepping out solo after almost 20 years with post-rock pioneers Stereolab, French-born singer Laetitia Sadier won glowing reviews for her 2010 debut album The Trip, displaying her airily voluptuous vocals in a set of deeply personal songs.
After recent collaborations with Vashti Bunyan, David Byrne and Devendra Banhart, Scottish singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jo Mango will premiere a brand new work created especially for Celtic Connections, There Was and There was Not. A collection of songs inspired by Angela Carter’s wild, fantastical and astonishing Book of Fairy Tales. The songs themselves use haunting sounds from folk traditions around the world and tell tales inspired by Carter’s themes, that are dark and magical, but ultimately, very human.
Completing the bill is Lancashire native Dan Haywood and his band who perform material inspired by an extended sojourn in Scotland’s far north.
