Celtic Connections Schools Concerts The Big Breakthrough!

Glasgow Royal Concert Hall : Main Auditorium

Please Note: This is a past event.

Be inspired! Children and young people from The BIG Project, Broomhouse, lead an interactive sing-a-long show celebrating Olympic and Paralympic values – excellence, friendship, respect, courage, determination, inspiration and equality – performing uplifting songs and displaying film footage of children and young people exploring the relevance of these values in their own lives.

We have more in common with Olympic and Paralympic athletes than we might think…the values by which these elite athletes live matter to all of us. These are celebrated in this concert by several choirs and 10 leading musicians including Karine Polwart. Singer-songwriter and pianist Kim Edgar’s brand new commission “Breakthrough” forms the concert finale, featuring all of the performers en masse and includes a series of themes representing the Olympic rings, which begin to connect, overlap and interweave.

Suitable for children, young people and the young at heart!

Please ensure you bring the email confirming your booking with you to the concert.
