Duo Cahalen Morrison and Eli West produce lush, soulful, organic and earthy music they describe as ‘old-time music styled for the 21st century’. Multi-instrumentalists Morrison and West’s debut album The Holy Coming of The Storm led to an invite from Bob Harris to record a session for his BBC Radio 2 show in the studio, as he described their music as “quite extraordinary”.
Cold Mountain star Dirk Powell will also perform tonight and will grace this concert with his vocal and multi-instrumental prowess. Dirk Powell is described as being one of the preeminent traditional American musicians of his generation and has recorded and performed with artists such as Loretta Lynn, Van Lear Rose, Sting, Jack White, Levon Helm, Jewel, T-Bone Burnett, Ralph Stanley and Linda Ronstadt to name a few.
